ABS resin (acrylonitrile butadiene styrene copolymer)

ABS is an acronym for acrylonitrile butadiene styrene) is a kind of high strength, good toughness and easy processing molding thermoplastic polymer material structure

ABS resin is acrylonitrile (Acrylonitrile), 1, 3- (Butadiene) and styrene butadiene (Styrene) three kinds of graft copolymer monomer.

Its molecular formula can be written as (C8H8, C4H6, C3H3N) x, but in fact is often a mixture containing butadiene copolymer was grafted with acrylonitrile styrene copolymer, the accounted for 15% ~ 35% acrylonitrile, butadiene accounted for 5% to 30%, styrene accounts for 40% to 60%, the proportion of the most common emulsion ABS is A:B:S=22:17:61, and bulk ABS B percentage tended to be lower, about to 13%.

ABS plastic molding temperature is 180-250 DEG C, but preferably not more than 240 DEG C, the resin will be decomposed.

With the three component ratio adjustment, the physical properties of the resin will have some changes:

1, 3-butadiene for ABS resin provide low temperature ductility and shock resistance, but too much butadiene will reduce resin hardness, luster and liquidity; acrylonitrile for ABS resin provides the properties of hardness, heat resistance, acid and alkali salt chemical corrosion; Styrene ABS resin provide rigidity, processing flow and the product surface smooth.

1, performance characteristics

ABS plastic has good impact strength and surface hardness in a certain temperature range, size stability, a good chemical resistance and good electrical insulation. It is opaque, usually pale ivory, by coloring is made with high gloss of any other color products, electroplating grade appearance can be plating, vacuum coating decoration. Softened general class of ABS impervious, slow burning, burning, the flame is yellow, black smoke, finally burned, there is a special smell, but no melting and dripping, available injection, extrusion and vacuum forming method for processing.

2, level and use

ABS plastic according to different uses can be divided into general class (including various anti leveling), flame retardant, heat resistant, electroplating, transparent, structural foam level and modified ABS etc..
